Utthan Samiti’s Maharana Pratap Jayanti Celebration Reverberates with Patriotism and Valor

Utthan Samiti brought the spirit of Rajput chivalry to life on May 9 at Dayanand Park in Avantika’s Maharana Pratap Chowk, staging a vibrant cultural and inspirational event to mark Maharana Pratap Jayanti. Hundreds of citizens—including elected representatives, social workers, scholars, women, youth and students—gathered from the early morning hours to pay homage to the 16th-century Mewar king’s self-respect and sacrifice.

The programme began at 8:30 AM with a Vedic hawan, in which senior citizens and local children participated, infusing the air with solemn prayers and patriotic resolve. At 9:00 AM, Utthan Samiti members and dignitaries laid floral wreaths at Maharana Pratap’s statue, while the crowd raised chants of “Rana Pratap Amar Rahe” and “Rashtragaurav Rana Ki Jai.”

From 9:30 AM to noon, Tanki Wala Park hosted a sequence of devotional bhajans and thought-provoking discourses. Local students recited stirring verses—“He lived on grass, yet never bowed his head”—and offered pledges to uphold India’s heritage. Traditional Malhar and Hori renditions transported the audience back to Mewar’s royal courts.
