Visitors at Ram Janmabhoomi Complex to See Saptarishi Statues Before Main Deities
Devotees visiting the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex in Ayodhya will first encounter the statues of the Saptarishis before reaching the main deities in the sanctum sanctorum. Due to logistical reasons, the consecration of idols inside the newly constructed auxiliary temples has not yet begun.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust explained that while devotees have been permitted to visit the Ram Darbar in the main temple since January, access to other deity statues has remained restricted.
According to temple authorities, the western section of the campus contains a cluster of shrines dedicated to sages and seers from the Ramayana era. The new temples house idols of Sage Vashishtha, Sage Vishwamitra, and the Saptarishis.
The first phase of the consecration began in June, with rituals performed for 13 statues of the Saptarishis. These statues were installed along the pathway leading to the main sanctum.
Additional temples for Lord Shiva, Goddess Annapurna, Lord Ganesha, and Hanuman are still under final preparations. Once completed, devotees will be able to offer prayers at all shrines within the complex.
A temple official noted that the remaining installations are expected to be completed in the coming months, after which devotees will have uninterrupted access to all the sacred idols.
